The browsers of today are attempting to eliminate spam from a different approach. The latest browsers are able to show the user exactly where the content they are viewing is coming from and include anti phishing features which may block users from downloading malicious content from fraudulent sites altogether. The latest versions of both Firefox and Internet Explorer seem to have caught on to showing the user exactly what domain they are browsing, gives the user some insight on whether to trust the site or not.

Internet Explorer Anti Phishing

Internet Explorer version 8 also has an intuitive approach by graying out everything in the address except for the originating domain.

Remember to never click on links that appear on sites that you aren’t familiar with or don’t trust. If you think a site looks out of the ordinary, it probably is.
